The
majority of martial arts organizations hand out black belts to kids, give
inflated egotistical 15th degree black belt ranks, give rank to
people who are pathetically weak with no ability, and to people who are out of
shape, overweight, and cannot physically do the martial art that they claim to
have mastered. The Budo Ryu Kai has never, and will never,
take part in these dishonorable actions. Here, in the Budo Ryu
Kai, being a black belt means something.
Since
the inception of the Budo Ryu Kai, our
student body has grown into thousands worldwide along with the development of many
schools that now teach Budo Ryu Ninjutsu.
Below is a list of all the
official ranks and grades that have been awarded through the Budo Ryu Kai. I feel that it is important to have an official list to reference so that people
that have worked the hardest can be recognized for their dedication and
achievement in Budo Ryu Ninjutsu.
In the Budo Ryu Kai, the 10 Dan
levels of testing are as follows:
Shodan
(初段) 1st Degree Black
Belt
Nidan (二段) 2nd Degree Black
Belt
Sandan
(三段) 3rd Degree Black
Belt
Yondan (四段) 4th Degree Black
Belt
Godan
(五段) 5th Degree Black
Belt
Rokudan (六段) 6th
Degree Black Belt
Nanadan (七段) 7th
Degree Black Belt
Hachidan (八段) 8th
Degree Black Belt
Kudan
(九段) 9th Degree Black
Belt
Judan (十段) 10th Degree Black
Belt
The Dan
rank testing is very hard and extremely difficult. Only the best get past the
Dan level testing in the Budo Ryu Kai. Just as the kyu ranks are reflective
of the
knowledge with the lower level students, so are the dan ranks for the advanced
students.
